POLICY / LOCAL-FIRST
Privacy without fine print.
Short version: Form Guard does not collect, transmit, or retain the contents of your forms. Review happens in your browser after you ask for it.
What the extension reads
After you select “Start form review,” the extension reads labels and current values from visible, editable fields in the active tab. It uses those values in memory to show one field at a time, speak a field when you request it, and run local checks. Password fields are always excluded. The values are discarded when the popup closes and are never written to browser storage.
What is stored locally
- Origins you explicitly enable after a sensitive-site pause.
- Your Guard+ flagged-first preference.
- An optional Guard+ license token, its validity, and the time it was last checked.
The website separately stores an optional license token and cached validity in your browser’s local storage. Clearing site or extension data removes those items.
What leaves your device
Form text never leaves your device. If you buy or verify Guard+, your browser connects to the Sociobot billing API and sends the license token only. Hosted checkout is operated by Sociobot with Dodo as merchant of record and is governed by their checkout privacy notices. This site uses no advertising, behavioural analytics, third-party fonts, or tracking scripts.
Permissions
Page access is required to inspect visible form controls only after you start a review and to outline the field currently being reviewed. Storage permission holds the settings listed above. Form Guard does not sell personal information.
